So in pursuit of better health, I took a long stroll and found another rural campus on the outskirts of Ojai, California. This one proving to be a philosophical and religious counterpoint to the Krishnamurti school in my previous post. The Krotona Institute of Theosophy is a learning center that supports the teachings of the Theosophical Society which I won’t get into. But the point for my purposes is that Krishnamurti was groomed to be the master teacher of the Society, but eventually parted ways to establish his own path. So here in Ojai, California lie two fascinating, if maybe somewhat hidden, competing enclaves of the religious/philosophical debates extending from two centuries ago.
Now these historic and formidable institutions are not without their own brand of humor as evidenced by the pictures below taken on the Krotona campus.
