My name is Alfred J. Fortin PhD, and I’m a retired senior executive of a large health organization in Hawaii.
I’ve worked in health care delivery for over 40 years. My experience ranges from mental health crisis intervention, child abuse prevention, studying AIDS in Africa, to university teaching and corporate health care strategic policy development. I’m also very interested in the health care challenges faced by China and the developing world.
I’ve authored a number of academic papers and grants relating to my work on HIV and surveillance, HIV in the Third World, and ethics in medicine. I was a recipient of a national fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies to study AIDS in Kenya.
I’m also an avid cyclist, musician, motorcyclist and photographer.
