My name is Alfred J. Fortin PhD, and I’ve worked in health care delivery for over 35 years. My experience ranges from mental health crisis intervention, child abuse prevention, studying AIDS in Africa, to university teaching and corporate health care strategic policy development. I’m also very interested in the health care challenges faced by China and the developing world.
I’ve authored a number of academic papers and grants relating to my work on HIV and surveillance, HIV in the Third World, and ethics in medicine. I was a recipient of a national fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies to study AIDS in Kenya.
Currently I work as a senior executive for a large health plan in Hawaii overseeing corporate strategy development, analysis and planning. I’m also an avid cyclist, musician and photographer.
